Feminism also takes parts in the history of music. Many female musicians have proven that they can do as well as male musicians can do. Many girls had encourage themselves to put an instrument and sing in a band. Some musician girls, however, have men behind them to support and back them during their carrier.
You can trace the history of music that says that in popular music, the first female appearance could be in the punk music. Many punk zines had notes that extreme girl feminism which was started by the Riot Grrrlll movements which started everything. Girl bands such as L7 and Bikini Kill were popular and those bands were consisting of girls who play bass, guitars, and drums which were abnormal in that time. Those bands also play hard music with rough vocals which were supposed to be the boy area.

However, now girls can play in a band without looking or sounds like “male” or even scarier than male can be. Girls like Amanda Palmer from The Dresden Dolls and Karen O from Yeah Yeah Yeahs could still be pretty and playing good music. Kim Shattuck from The Muffs also brings punk rock to the girlie and childish sounds. The history of music belongs the girls also.
